This is another one for younger players. They’ll enjoy it far more than the original, but we were hoping for more depth out of Africa.

Expanding on the original’s brilliance, this ingenious platformer only gets better by embracing the Wii’s limited capabilities and adds so many ideas, big and small, that we can’t help but love it. Like the best fantasy, Frontier does exciting. Unlike the best fantasy, it still understands the appeal of the relaxing. Never demanding one or the other, but particularly brilliant with both, this is a great addition to the series, eclipsing Wii’s Harvest Moon escapades with style.

Perhaps there are too many on-rail shooters for the Wii, but this sequel is only the second to involve NERF guns, so that's got to be worth something.

You don’t get to play out Van Halen’s rise to fame – instead just plod through the tracks unlocking stars. Fans will squeeze out some fun but this is the laziest GH yet.

Guitar Hero 5 is the perfect excuse to stock up on some lithium batteries, invite your friends back around and deadbolt the door. You’ll be hooked by song 2.
